Your banner should tell people where to go next

Most LinkedIn banners are a nice photo and nothing else. Yours can carry a short link: your digital business card, your website or a booking page. People see it before they get to your About section.

A link that fits on one line
prointro.com/yourname is short enough to read and type. It opens a card with your photo, contact details and a button to save you to their phone.
Your name and title, big and clear
Your name, title and company sit on the right, where nothing covers them on any screen.
Your logo and colors
Pick your brand color and every template follows it. Add your company logo above your name.
An optional QR code
Off by default, because most people view your banner on the same phone they would scan with. Turn it on if you also share your screen at events.

LinkedIn banner size and safe zones

The LinkedIn banner size is 1584×396 pixels, a 4:1 ratio. LinkedIn accepts PNG or JPG up to 8MB. Two parts of the banner get covered, which is why most homemade banners lose text:

Your profile photo, bottom left
On desktop your round profile photo sits over the bottom-left corner of the banner. Anything you put there is hidden.
The sides, on phones
The LinkedIn app shows a narrower slice of the banner and crops both ends, so text near the left or right edge disappears.
Where your text goes
Right of center, away from the edges. The maker keeps your name, title and link there, and shows the covered areas while you edit.

How to add a banner to your LinkedIn profile

It takes about 30 seconds once you have the PNG.

On desktop

  1. 1Click Me at the top of LinkedIn, then View profile.
  2. 2Click the pencil icon in the top-right corner of your background photo.
  3. 3Choose Upload photo (or Change photo), pick the downloaded PNG and click Apply.

In the LinkedIn app

  1. 1Tap your profile photo, then View profile.
  2. 2Tap the pencil icon on your background photo.
  3. 3Choose Upload a background photo, pick the PNG from your photos and tap Save.

Claim the link on your banner

prointro.com/yourname opens a free digital business card with your photo, links and one-tap "save contact". Claim it once and use it on your banner, your email signature and your QR code.

Questions about LinkedIn banners

01What size is a LinkedIn banner?

A LinkedIn profile banner (the background photo) is 1584×396 pixels, a 4:1 ratio, as a PNG or JPG up to 8MB. Every banner from this maker downloads at exactly 1584×396.

02Is the LinkedIn banner maker free?

Yes. Every template, your details, logo, link and QR code are free to download, and you don't need an account.

03Why does my LinkedIn banner get cut off?

Your profile photo covers the bottom-left corner on desktop, and the LinkedIn app crops both sides on phones. Keep text right of center and away from the edges. The maker does this for you and shows the covered areas in the preview.

04What should I put on my LinkedIn banner?

Your name, what you do and one link. The link is the part most people skip. A short URL like prointro.com/yourname gives profile visitors one place with all your contact details.

05What is prointro.com/yourname?

It's your own page on ProIntro, a digital business card with your photo, title, contact details and links, plus a button to save your contact. It's free. The banner shows the link your name would get, and you can claim it after you download.

06Should I put a QR code on my LinkedIn banner?

Usually not. Most people see your banner on their phone, and they can't scan their own screen. The QR is there if you want it, for example when you show your profile on a screen at an event.

07Is my information stored anywhere?

No. The banner maker runs in your browser. Your details stay on your device so you can come back and edit, and the image is made there too.
